Ahead of schedule you can see at this 1st morning of December the new Audi A6 for 2012.

Leaked or in other words, hacked from an unprotected print magazine’s web site, we were able to  find those photos ahead of the official premier of the all new 2012 Audi A6.

The silhouette of the newest Audi A6 is rather similar to the current generation A6, but the 2012 A6 model features an very similar lines to the future Audi A7.

2012 Audi A6 Specifications

Well as you can espect the 2012 Audi specs are identical to the current 2011 Audi A6, at least when it comes to the petrol engines, but in the diesel department, thins are looking good but not great.

First is the petrol 2.8 FSI engine with 208 HP followed by a 3.0 TFSI with 300 HP, they are the same as seen in the current 2011 Audi A6.  The very popular 2.0-liter fount in the four-cylinder diesel TDI will provide 163 HP or 177 HP, compared to the current 2.0TDI which produces only 140ps. Good improvement but again, not great.  Both Mercedes and BMW offer a twin turbo 4 cylinder diesel engines producing more than 200ps.

The 3.0 TDI also gives a choice of 204 HP or 245 HP, which is only 5ps more than the current 3,0TDI.
And I think this is not enough, compared to the BMW 535d with 299ps, there is more that we can ask.
So as for the 2012 Audi A6 specs, well nothing spectacular about them. Good engines with let say 15% improvement compared to the current 2011 Audi A6.

Audi Hybrid

As the petrol prices raise almost daily, Audi is planning to introduce a couple of hybrid vehicles in the next few years. Audi is planning to dominate the hybrid car sector at the end of 2012. To achieve that, they are going to introduce an A6 hybrid with their next A6 model.
At the premium sector, the job is up to the all-new 2011 A8. Audi introduced a hybrid version of their A8 at this year Geneva motor show, check pictures and 2011 A8 hybrid specifications.
A hybrid version of the current version of the 2010 Audi Q5 will be also available soon. Specialists say that by the end of the decate, Audi will extend their hybrid model lineup to all of their models, including the A1 and Audi A2.

‘In future, our clients will be able to choose from an ever expanding range of powertrain technologies,’ said Audi’s head: Rupert Stadler recently in Geneva.

Probably in the future the e-tron name, which Audi use for it’s electric power vehicles will be even more spread out  then the quattro name.

2012 Audi A6

As in the A8 case, Audi will be the last premium brand to introduce their latest luxury sedan. Mercedes introduced their latest E-class last years and BMW do that a couple of weeks ago. Now it’s time for Audi to show it’s latest creation.

Design wise, the 2012 Audi A6 will be a mixture between the upcoming A7 and the latest 2011 Audi A8.

The 2012 Audi A6 will be officially introduced in march 2012 as a limousine and later that years as Avant.

There is no official specifications about the engines yet, but we can expect a new fleet of BiTurbo diesel engines. So in the diesel side, the A6 will be most likely powered  by a BiTurbo 2.0TDI producing around 200ps and a 3.0TDI V6 with either one or two turbos with 245ps or around 290ps. Petrol wise, we can expect a next generation of the V6 TFSI engine.
