2013 Audi RS4 Avant

We all expected that Audi will be ubveal the all new 2013 Audi Rs4 Avant at the Geneva Motor show, but ahead of schedule they sent the first pictures and specs of the new red “little monster”. With the task to be the future M3 killer Audi has fitted they latest creation with hand-built 4.2-liter V8 engine that produces 450PS ( 331kW / 444 hp ) and 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) of torque. That is 30bhp more than the outgoing model. Rumors said that the latest 2014 M3 will be fitted with a inline-six twin-turbo engine, so Audi deserve great admiration for the decision to keep the V8 inside the RS4. Lets be hones, no turbo engine can produce the brutal noise of a N/A V8 engine, well except Porsche.

Because of the big V8 engine under the hood, the four ring star can accelerate from 0-100kph (0-62mph) in 4.7 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250kph (155mph). If you think that speed is a little bit shy for your brand new 2013 RS4, then you can request from Audi to increase your speed limiter up to 280kph (174 mph).

The performance figures become a little more impressive when you add in the fuel economy stats. It consumes an average of 11 liters per 100km which is 21.38 mpg in US standards.  That is a little bit optimistic, I must say.

The V8 power unit is mated with the company’s seven-speed S tronic transmission system better known as all Golf fans as DSG. The quattro drive system passes power to all four wheels with a 40:60 front rear bias. However the crown-gear center differential system can re-distribute power between the front and rear axles that adds to the driving dynamics. Up to 70% of the power can be passed directly to the front axle, whilst this figure is as high as 85% for the rear.

The exterior design follows the current Audi design pattern. A set of LED daytime running lights are fitted around the xenon plus headlights. The large air inlets below the headlights add a further aggressive style while being complimented by the front splitter that helps with the race car looks.

Wonder how much this red racer will cost? If you want to say that you own a 2012 Audi RS4 Avant, then you will need to pay at least 76,600Euro.

After the great RS3, Audi fans has been waiting for the upcoming Audi S1 and Audi RS1. Happily one Audi fan has managed to take a few photos of the 2012 Audi S1 near quattro GmbH headquarters in Neckarsulm Germany. Sadly as seen from the Audi S1 photos bellow, the S1 will not come with quattro four-wheel driver or this particular model was not equipment with it. However the 2013 Audi RS1 will almost certainly feature  quattro.

2011 Audi S1 engines

Sadly there is no official information from Audi about the engines of the small ” angry bug killer” but we can expect either pumped up 1.4TFSI engine from the current A1 or 1.8TFSI from the 2011 Audi A3. Either way one thing is for sure, the Fiat 500 Abarth will see the four rings in its rear view mirror really soon.

Audi S1 Photos

Great Triumph at Valencia: With a glorious 1-2-3-4-5-6 result and an early title win Audi managed to win touring car championship DTM. Mattias Ekström celebrated his third victory of the season, Filipe Albuquerque, as the runner-up, his first podium finish and Martin Tomczyk in third place is the new DTM Champion.

Third place was enough for Audi driver Martin Tomczyk to become the 2011 DTM title holder. With a 13-point advantage over his top opponent, Bruno Spengler driving Mercedes-Benz, the Bavarian managed a special feat. Martin won for the first time his DTM trophy.

“I extend warm congratulations to Martin Tomczyk, his team and the entire Audi squad on this outstanding achievement. The fans experience captivating duels at the highest sporting level and in Martin an absolutely deserving champion of the 2011 season,” says Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG. “ Just as you know, Audi motor-sport won also the 24 Hours Le Mans race and numerous other races, so this DTM success, just proves the capabilities of Audi cars and drivers.

As soon as the rumors went that BMW is considering making hot version of the X1, speculations of upcoming hot version of the future Q3 has raised.

German auto-magazine “Auto Motor und Sport” says that Q3-S crossover will be powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine with 300 PS (221 kW / 296 hp). The engine will be very similar to the Audi RS3. Additionally, we can expect revised styling, a sport-tuned suspension and beefier brakes.

The Q3 S could be unveiled in the fall of 2012, so stay tuned for more information.

Inside, the R8 LeMans Limited Edition you will find crimson red trim accents/stitching along side the Black Fine Nappa Leather-upholstered seats and headrests.

The R8 V8 Limited Edition is available to order from July with a price starting at £93,935 OTR. First deliveries begin in October.

Price for the normal R8 stars at £86,935, so 93k for that exclusive R8 is not that much.

Not many changes for the 2012 Audi S5. For the new S5 spotted on the ring, Audi has fitted a new LED taillight and some minor changes for around the headlights.

The biggest change is in the engine department. The normally aspirated 4.2 V8 is replaced by a smaller 3.0 V6 with a supercharger. The power is down from 350HP to 333HP, but combined with the new eight speed automatic transmission, the fuel consumption is much lower.

Audi’s large lineup of e-tron concepts has just increased by one. Audi has just unveiled the A3 variant.

Design wise, the car is identical to the ordinary A4 variant. To distinguished it from the standard A3, Audi fitted it with a revised instrument cluster, leather / Alcantara seats, a heated windshield and an optimized air conditioning system.

The power comes from an 26.5 kWh lithium-ion battery which sends power to an electric motor with a power of 136 PS (100 kW / 134 hp) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to it, the A3 Avant concept is able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 11.2 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 145 km/h (90 mph).
The A3 e-tron avant concept can travel approximately 140 km (87 miles) on a single charge. When the battery is depleted, it can be recharged in about nine hours with a 230V household outlet or four hours with a 400V rapid charger.

The German tuner: Anderson has unveiled their latest creation Audi R8 Black Edition. They described it as a road going UFO and that is for reason. With those stylish black lines it certainly looks great. The hyper black edition Audi from Anderson features a carbon fiber body kit with a front lip spoiler an aggressive rear diffuser, and a massive rear wing. You will find also fully tinted windows, a smoked tail lights and orange brake clippers. The 19” wheels are basically the same as the standard R8, but now they are completely black with carbon fiber accents. Off course the paint of the car is black and get this, it’s called Hyper Black.

Well those photos are far from being official of the real 2012 Audi Q6, but are good enough to be discussed. Some drawings that are showing what might the future 2012 Audi Q6 look like.

With no surprise, with the success of BMW X6, Audi is now are going to develop a rival for the BMW X6. Yes, something beautiful and a bit more un-practical compared to the Q7.

There are not many details, but Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said the on German press “We can imagine a model between the Q5 and the Q7 . . . a coupe-like, four-wheel-driven model.” If approved, the crossover would feature sporty styling and ride on the same platform that underpins the Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne.

Now words about the engines, but we can expect the ordinary 2.0TDI-e to be in the lineup for ruse, also the bulletproof 2.0TFSI. A sportier version with 4.0TFSI V8 from the future S6 could also be fitted in the Q6 and off course the mighty 3.0TDI.

Nothing for the launch date of the Q6, but don’t expect to see one of those in front of your house earlier than summer 2012 or even 2013.
