VW Announced 7.3Billion Euro Investment in Audi

Audi
Despite the global crisis, Volkswagen is going on a bit of a strike. After the recent bought of 49.9% stakes of Porsche and 19.9% of Suzuki, Volkswagen has announced that they will invest 7.3Billion Euro in Audi to make it a better competitor to BMW and Mercedes. In my opinion they Audi reached the level of quality that BMW and Mercedes offers long time ago, so that investment really means that Volkswagen just wants to introduce more models wearing the Audi badge, 42models to be precise. That’s right, Volkswagen announced that by the end of 2015, Audi will offer 42models. Now this is good news that but at some point is quite disturbing. There are already some really confusing cars in the Mercedes model lineup and there is no need Audi to compete with the Mercedes R-Class or the BMW X6. I know, technically the X6 is a really god SUV or SAV which BMW call it, but as Jeremy Clarkson sad on Top Gear, it’s somewhat pointless. So Audi should be really careful what new models their will going to offer. As far as I know, the new A1 and the future A7 are really enough to complete the model lineup. No need for another coupe slash estate slash cabriolet. I really hope by the “make a better competitor to BMW and Mercedes”, Volkswagen meant that they will increase the quality further more and introduce more great technologies, rather than making pointless new models just to make money.
